Max knew that spies and psych-operatives were some of the smartest liars in the world. He also knew, as I read his mind, that Psychiatrists were the smartest.
Tony Sopranos’ mother once said that, “Psychiatry was just a racket for the Jews.” Max knew from experience that was too simplistic; the true religion/God of the psychiatry that Max dealt with was money, and it had no particular religious denomination.
The first line of defense of organized crime is money. The second line of defense is friendly judges and politicians. The final line, or the final solution was what the Nazi’s so effectively utilized on Jews, Gypsies, and gays in the 1930‘s and 1940‘s-extermination.
The only difference was that the Nazis did it all within the legal limits of their law, while organized crime only did it occasionally within the limits of the law, that was when it was done at the bidding and protection of the American government. They were just called Contractors.
Organized crime holds elections, just like civilized human beings. If the election does not turn out as desired, the civilized live with it. If organized crime does not like the outcome of an election, they simply commit an assassination.
Organized crime to flourish, just as the Big Three auto industry, employs public relations firms to garner favors. Just like a Democratic Illinois Governor trying to sell a United States Senate seat to the highest bidder, so too must organized crime have judges and politicians in their pockets to succeed and go unnoticed. If noticed, the judges and politicians provide cover, and make the inconvenient more convenient, or totally go away.
It was an election year, and Max was instructed to inform each Republican and Democratic doctor within my walls to donate to United States Congressman David Dukakis. David was the Republican elected Congressman for Florida’s United States Legislative District # 9, where I resided. He could have just as easily been a Democrat, because organized crime does not discriminate regarding political parties or candidates...
